About Legacy
At just 17 years old, Legacy Jackson is the literal definition of her name, a visionary leader, changemaker, and powerhouse who has dedicated her youth to uplifting others. Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Legacy is an elite scholar, community organizer, and world-class dancer who seamlessly blends academic excellence with a fierce passion for philanthropy.
Legacy’s journey of service began as a little girl when she noticed a lack of volunteer spaces tailored for children. Refusing to accept that youth were too small to make a difference, she founded Little Legacies, a thriving 501(c)(3) community service organization that empowers kids to become active agents of change. To date, Legacy has completed more than 5,000 hours of community service, earning her national acclaim, including the prestigious Lifetime Presidential Service Award in January 2025, alongside recognitions from the U.S. House, Senate, and the White House.
Her commitment to healing and advocacy is deeply personal. Following the heartbreaking loss of her older brother, Brendon Ogunnaike, to Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes in 2017, Legacy authored Bubbles for Brendon. The published book provides children with practical A-to-Z coping skills for dealing with grief and loss. Her gift for communication also made her the youngest person in Missouri to deliver a powerful TEDx Talk on creating a lifelong legacy of service.
Academically, Legacy is a force. As a standout student at Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory High School, she maintains a stellar 3.75 GPA while taking Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses to simultaneously earn her associate degree from St. Louis Community College. Her leadership extends across the country; she is a Girl Scout "Trifecta" recipient (earning the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and sits on the Girl Scouts of the USA National Board of Directors, representing over 13 million girls.
Named one of People Magazine’s girls changing the world and selected for the elite Disney Dreamers Academy Class of 2024, Legacy’s talents shine just as brightly on stage as they do in the boardroom. A gifted pre-professional dancer, she trains in pointe at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA) in St. Louis and has studied at the world-renowned Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles and The Ailey School in New York.
An aspiring broadcast journalist, Legacy plans to use her platform to amplify good news and inspire a global generation of young leaders to lead with character, confidence, and compassion.
